All progress on my Pirate Automata has been covered by the return of traveling crafting transportation devices (bags lol). Yesterday I went to my sister's house and we made 15 cards. She was mostly the selector and eyes and I was mostly the hands. I dropped the very last inner sentiment stamp, so I resorted to the old cover it with patterned paper and stamp it again trick lol.

So today I'll be putting everything back in it's proper place.

I made this fun hat with a Freia Fibers super bulky yarn called Dirty Hippie and a pattern called Pompom and Tuft. Once I figured out the tuft stitch, it was a super fast knit (less than a day). Whilst I was trying to figure out the tuft stitch, the temperature was ranging from 15F to -6F... now that it's finished it's been well above. So I need to find a hat pattern for more temperate cold weather lol. The tuft stitch was not so much difficult as it was just so different from my moderate range of knit stitches experience it simply did not compute for about a month lol. The pompom is removable for easy cleaning which is just brilliant. But without the pompom I feel I am channeling Venus of Willendorf, so I am team PomPom all the way lol.

My first post on my new computer, as my old was having a keyboard stroke and losing the functionality of keys, like the "a" key so every "a" I wrote had to be copied and pasted... apparently I am quite fond of words with "a"s in them BTW. Also this computer has Windows 10, which spends most of it's time sucking eggs. If you can avoid getting a computer with Windows 10, I highly recommend that.

We've also had some Weather. I'm fairly experienced at snowy driving, but we had one day of white out snow that was intimidating AF. Also had a few days in the minusF even before windchills were factored in.

So I took this picture early this moring, but it took me a while to sort every thing so I could post it. I am assembling a Pirate Automata from the Amazing Automata Pirates! book. I've made a few goofs, but I'm having fun and learning to read directions lol. I plopped it right over some stamping experimenting that I was doing.

Using my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform. The unexpected favorite thing about this is being able to pull off the lid to stamp it, and put it back on easy peasy one handed if need be. The gold paint has been put to good use for many things including painting the edges of the die cut used in the card below. Lots and lots going on, stamps pile high on the left, a Christmas Tree die getting buried, glues and more stamps.

One of the die cuts from Papertrey Ink's Mix & Mat: Berry Boughs dies, painted gold around the edges, painted with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink in the middle. The deer from Dash away all, and die cut printed trees from the Wonderland kit.

Still giving the BigShot and SideKick a workout. I am in the throes of Christmas Crafting afterall. Papertrey Ink has wonderful stitching dies. I am currently making coasters (I do love one size fits all things lol). The round gold bit in the middle comes from the round bit on the side, to be used in a popup card of sorts. I'm a bit gold obsessed this year. Somehow I have managed to lose my bin full of clothes pins, they are supposed to be in my well organized closet, but somehow are not.

Bits of this and that. Wooden box about to be painted a purple metallic. Not in the picture is my Tim Holtz SideKick. Why buy a Sidekick when I just got a BigShot? Because the Sidekick fits right on my workspace which is extra fantastic for cutting those little things without having to walk around to the BigShot. Both of them have been getting a workout.

Cloche Up project from Papertrey Ink's Make It Market kit: Wonderland.

Ornament made with two of the main pieces put together around the edges. Shutterbug Special from Papertrey Ink.

Another ornament made with the Shutterbug Special set this time with a photo as the slider.

My new Big Shot arrived so I got busy cutting variations of Papertrey Ink's Mix & Mat: Berry Boughs. Each die comes with an interchangeable outer edge, inner frame and decorative background. It needed one folded sheet of printer paper as a shim to cut all the way through, but it works! I'm not sure what to do with my uneven cutting BigKick (but it worked well for most of the 15 years I had it).

Some pouring medium I got and have not started using yet towards the back. Pens waiting to go back where they belong. Front and center is a lovely die called Mix & Mat: Berry Boughs interchanable mat dies only my BigKick is giving up the ghost and doesn't cut evenly so a BigShot is on it's way to me because there was a sale at Scrapbook.com.

I found this recently.... Ivory Black... : / ... isn't that oxymoronic? The ink looks just black, no ivory. Perhaps it shows up after stamping lol. I bought it thinking it was Ivory lol.
